MEHMED project is presented for the implementation of environmental change masters in the Maghreb
MEHMED wants to implement eight degrees of official master’s degree in environmental change in the Mediterranean.
The University of Girona welcomed the kick-off meeting of this project, led by the coordinator and researcher Josep Vila Subirós, with 14 academic and research institutions in the Mediterranean basin.
During the kick-off meeting held on February 28th and 1st March, all partners expressed their expectations which were for exemple: extend cooperation to enterprises, improve CV of students, mobility for students and staff, cross-disciplinary research, promote sustainably
practices, improve skills of teaching staff and others.
Furthermore, all partners had the opportunity to know closer the project and create next steps, but also see an example of a university master’s programme from the University of Girona:
“Master’s in Environmental Change: Analysis and Management”.
With Mehmed, a cooperative will be developed in the training of university graduates capable of understanding and addressing the consequences of the great changes that are taking place simultaneously in the world, focusing on the specific reality of the Mediterranean basin.
