Officially, the MEHMED project began on January 15, 2019 and will last for 3 years until January 14, 2022. The project has a budget of 788,626 EUR and the main objectives are the following ones:
- The design, accreditation, implementation and evaluation of environmental change master’s degrees in several universities of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia, taking as a reference in the proposal and point of practical inspiration the master’s degree in environmental change at the UdG. This was argued at the time of presenting the project and this has been defended since the implementation of MEHMED. Working to strengthen the ties with both private companies and public institutions as well as NGOs in order to improve the professional opportunities of future Master students by connecting the training needs and demands of the labor market more efficiently.
- The establishment of a network of universities to work together and help ensure the future sustainability of the project. We are working on how this project can help to establish a Mediterranean university network with the possibility of creating a network of its own or integrating ourselves into the UNIMED network with the aim of establishing a specific subnet on «Environmental change”: http://www.uni-med.net/
